Dr. Christoforos Mallouris, is currently working as Civil Society Networking Adviser at UNAIDS since 2013 and is also the focal point on people who inject drugs and people living with HIV. Previously Chris was working as a consultant for the Social Justice 4 All consulting firm, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Chris served as the Director of Programmes at the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) from 2008 to 2011, during which time he oversaw and managed all programmatic and advocacy work of the organization. He was with UNESCO (Paris) from 2003 to 2008, working on the culture and education sectors’ responses to AIDS. Chris holds a Bachelors of Art in Physics from Macalester College (1995), a Masters and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Chicago (1996, 2001) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine External Programme (2009). He is a citizen of Cyprus.
